This week in a lesson some of the progressing investigators my companion and I teach asked us if they need to be baptized in this church. We had a wonderful conversation about baptism, shared with them scriptures from Acts and the Book of Mormon, and then gave them a commitment for baptism. The husband accepted, but the wife doesn't think she is ready to be baptized. We lovingly but boldly explained again the purpose of baptism, and both really want to be baptized. But.....
Here is where things start changing. I got a phone call from my Mission President on Friday informing my of transfers. I will be leaving East Surabaya, and training a new missionary in West Surabaya. I will take a taxi into my new area, then on Friday pick up my new companion from the airport.
I have really come to love this part of Surabaya. Although the city has 2.7 million people, and my area about a quarter of that, I feel a great love for each person. In my new area, although it is in the same city, I will no longer have frequent contact with the branch and my old investigators. I know I will be leaving my area in the hands of very capable missionaries, and that my new area will produce people who have been prepared by the Lord to hear his restored gospel.
